Three Race Touareg cars in front

Mid-way through the 2010 Dakar Rally Volkswagen maintains a commanding advantage: Three Race Touareg cars in front in the overall standings before the rest day.

Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz (Spain/Spain) are leading the world’s toughest rally with 11m 03s ahead of their team-mates Nasser Al-Attiyah and Timo Gottschalk (Quatar/ Germany) who are 22m 06s in front of Mark Miller and Ralph Pitchford (USA/ South Africa).

The fourth Race Touareg, driven by Geniel De Villers and Dirk Von Zitzewitz, has fought their way back to 9th position overall, after a difficult stage 5 where an electrical problem resulted in a 3 hour delay for the team.

Will the Volkswagen Race Touaregs continue to dominate this year’s rally, and if so, which driver/ navigator team will finish first on the podium?
