Zimbali Country Club

KwaZulu Natal, 9 July

Zimbali Country Club is part of a breathtaking 700-hectare Coastal Resort situated on a stretch of KwaZulu-Natal’s Dolphin Coast. With ocean and forest views, water and wetland features and an inspiring natural setting, Zimbali Country Club has developed the reputation of a memorable course with charisma and challenge.

The players at the Zimbali Country Club, Deon Barnard, Andre Du Plessis, Gary Weddell and Greg Veale, were warmly welcomed by the Volkswagen team. The weather played along as the Touareg enthusiast ventured out for a superb day of golf.

Results

Andre du Plessis flew from Johannesburg to take part in the event, and he was not disappointed. He deservedly won the A Division with a net of 69 (he shot 81 off a 12 handicap). Andre was the only person to win a prize without it being a count in or count out. Everyone else in the A Division and B Division was counted in or out to get their prize. There was a four-way count out in B Division, which led to Touareg participant, Deon Barnard, ensuring his place at the Final tournament in Simola in September with 35 points. This brought the total number of Touareg participants going through to the South African Final to three.
